data-mm-id=”_hsyn7othz”>The Chicago Bears' attention has been turned to the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft for over a month now and reports are beginning to suggest the franchise has made their decision– to trade Justin Fields and pick a quarterback first overall. That quarterback will probably be Caleb Williams, although there's plenty of time for them to change their minds on that front. Which means Fields will be on the trade block, and teams are already calling. Per Albert Breer, from Monday: Such is the case with the Bears and Justin Fields—with the team having gotten a little insight into what his trade value may be. Chicago staffers got inquiries from other teams on Fields in Mobile. And while the Bears haven’t shopped Fields, those conversations did allow the team to start to gauge the 2021 first-rounder’s worth out there on the market. Then there's the less meaningful but still notable news that Fields and his dog stopped following the Bears on Instagram. DEVELOPING: Justin Fields’ dog Uno has also unfollowed the Bears on Instagram. As of yet I am unable to confirm whether Uno made this decision himself or if his social media manager made it. Remarkable nonetheless. pic.twitter.com/VB49jMv6Ai— Tom Fornelli (@TomFornelli) February 20, 2024We're still early enough in the process that nothing is set in stone but it would line up. Fields has shown flashes of greatness but very inconsistently. Whether that's more a product of the tumultuous environment surrounding him (i.e. three different offensive coordinators in three years, one of the NFL's worst offensive lines and receiving cores) or just who he is as a player doesn't really matter. Chicago has to work with the evidence on hand, and that evidence leans more towards trading Fields and getting a younger, cheaper, potentially better QB on a rookie deal for the next five years. Not much has changed since we last discussed who could trade for Fields if the Bears do decide to move him. The Broncos, Falcons, and Patriots are all still without a quarterback. Those are the obvious and therefore lame choices. But, given how divisive he appears to be as a player, there could be any number of wild card options at play. Thus, we dare to wonder who the dark horse candidates might be. Here are a few possibilities on that front with a trade growing more imminent with each passing day.

Atletico Madrid have agreed to sign Mexico international striker Raul Jimenez from America, pending a medical.
La Liga champions Atletico and Liga MX outfit America confirmed the deal sending Jimenez to Madrid on Wednesday.
Atletico sporting manager Jose Perez Caminero expressed his delight with the capture of the 23-year-old, who represented Mexico at the World Cup in Brazil after scoring seven goals in America s run to the Apertura final last season.
He is a player with tremendous projection and he will complete our offensive line, Caminero told Atletico s official website of Jimenez, who had scored four goals in the first three games of the 2014-15 season before his departure.

Switzerland will start their FIFA World Cup warm-up schedule with the visit of Jamaica on Friday.
The Swiss have a short programme of fixtures compared to many of their World Cup rivals, with just Peru left to face before their tournament gets underway against Ecuador on June 15.
It could be argued that the relative lack of preparation prevents Ottmar Hitzfeld s men from having the opportunity to slip out of the form that has seen them become one of international football s form sides over the past few years.
Switzerland have not lost a competitive fixture since a 2-0 defeat to Wales in 2011, and are the only team to beat World Cup hosts Brazil in their last 19 matches.
But Hitzfeld will be forced to do without experienced campaigner Tranquillo Barnetta and Zuric…
Alan Pardew said Wilfried Zaha would still be considered a Manchester United player under former manager Alex Ferguson and has predicted the pacey winger to haunt his former club at Wembley in Saturday s FA Cup final.
Zaha was signed by Ferguson before his shock retirement in 2013 when he left United as Premier League champions, so the Englishman never had the chance to impress the Scottish great.
Instead, he started his first season at United under David Moyes but was promptly loaned back to Palace, before the move was made permanent upon Louis van Gaal s arrival in 2014.
I know that Sir Alex Ferguson still feels he should be a United player, Pardew said.
Wilf can run fast all day, he can beat players for fun, and he has a great physique. There s a lot…
that Nigerian midfielder Ogenyi Onazi is set to extend his contract with Lazio.
The 21-year-old has another two years left on his current deal, but his agent Jonathan Barnet has agreed a contract until June 2018 with the Biancocelesti on behalf of his client.
As a result, Onazi will be earning around €700,000 per campaign, with a €10 million release clause set to be inserted.
The central midfielder has spent his entire professional career at Stadio Olimpico having joined the club in 2011 and has so far featured in 45 Serie A matches.
After starting all four games for Nigeria at the 2014 World Cup, Onazi needed some time to reach full fitness and he has yet to make his first appearance of the season.

Liverpool have returned to the top of the Premier League after drawing 0-0 with Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.
Jurgen Klopp’s side rarely tested Red Devils goalkeeper David De Gea, who became the seventh player to have kept one hundred clean sheets in the division while the hosts only had a few shots on target themselves.
The point sees Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men slip outside the top four, with Arsenal replacing them after they eased past Southampton at the Emirates Stadium.
Goals from Alexandre Lacazette and Alex Iwobi helped seal the victory for the Gunners, who can be backed at for the first time in three years.

It was a good day for Argentine teams in Copa Libertadores as River Plate and Lanus reached the quarter-finals.
River advanced to the quarters despite Tuesday s 1-1 second-leg draw at home to Guarani, while Lanus went through to the last eight thanks to their 1-0 victory over The Strongest.
Champions in 2015, River progressed 3-1 on aggregate after Lucas Alario cancelled out Marcelo Palau s first-half opener in Buenos Aires.
River were 2-0 winners against the Paraguayan hosts last month, but Guarani managed to reduce the deficit at Estadio Monumental Antonio Vespucio.

BST 12:30 Chelsea vs Crystal Palace
Starting with Saturday s hosts, throwing away the lead late on in midweek and watching bitter rivals Tottenham end their EFL Cup adventure on penalties, Chelsea have struggled to get themselves flying out the traps this season. While Frank Lampard s men might have really broken the bank this summer and brought in a host of new arrivals, the Blues have managed to win just one of…
Left-back perhaps wasn t the first position many Manchester United fans thought of in terms of areas that needed strengthening in pre-season, but it s now easy to see why they have added Alex Telles to their ranks.
With Luke Shaw and Brandon Williams as their two left-backs, most supporters would have been content – if not thrilled – by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer s options in the position.
Both were solid for the most part last season, though in the case of Shaw, it is fair to say he hasn t hit the heights many expected of him.
Shaw appeared destined for great things when he joined United from Southampton six years ago, and although injury problems have affected him, it s difficult to argue he s any better than he was as an 18-year-old.

Napoli have urged their fans to make themselves heard in the fight against racism during Saturday’s home game against Atalanta.
The Serie A club said earlier in the week that it was “astonishing” that Italy defender Francesco Acerbi was not sanctioned over allegations of racism against their player Juan Jesus.
Inter Milan’s Acerbi was accused of racism towards Jesus in the closing stages of a 1-1 draw earlier this month, with the Napoli defender briefly pausing the match to report the matter to the referee.
We believe in a world where equality and respect are not just empty illusions but concrete and universally recognised principles.
For this to happen, we mustn t stay silent. Tomorrow is the right chance to raise our voices and say NO to racism …
